A licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Kristen has worked extensively with special needs children as well as adults. Her commitment and dedication is evident in her 15 years of experience in the counseling field. A ten-year veteran of LeafWing with a Master’s in Counseling from California State University, Fullerton, Kristen is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst who has helped countless families, couples and individuals. She brings to the center the type of compassion and expertise that truly embody what we do.

Jennifer Ley, MS, LMFT

Currently working towards licensure as an MFTi and PCCi, Jennifer holds a Master’s in Counseling from California State University, Fullerton. Her experience to date involves working with a wide array of individuals, couples, and families, those coping with domestic violence, codependency, sexual abuse, relationship issues, as well as problems of self-esteem. Additionally, Jennifer has had the opportunity to help treat clients dealing with mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and autism. A behavior therapist, parent consultant, and now supervisor in the treatment of children with autism, Jennifer has become an asset to the LeafWing team.

A licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Karen holds an Master’s in Clinical Psychology and is EMDR trained. Specializing in trauma, self-esteem issues, addiction, and attachment (bonding) issues, Karen’s approach is one marked by gentleness, positive reinforcement and keen insight. Her work with clients is largely emotion-focused as she helps them navigate through their experiences and inner conflicts. A key member of the LeafWing team, Karen’s expertise and intuitive approach is incredibly well-received.

Hyman Ray Leong,

Holding a Master’s in Psychology from St. Mary’s and licensed in Marriage and Family Therapy, Hyman has a diverse array of experience across of number of different environments. From working as a Youth Minister, to helping with outreach programs for the needy and elderly, to serving as a 911 dispatcher handling numerous emergencies, to offering parenting classes through the family court system in Compton and throughout Los Angeles County, Hyman has keen insight into the types of urgent and real-life issues affecting many of the underrepresented populations in today’s society. Given his extensive training and years of experience, he is able to help clients not only cope with their circumstances but ultimately grow more confident. Hyman is trained in such Evidence Based Practices as Incredible Years, AFCBT, TFCBT, ART and CBITS, as well as attaining certification as a Breakthrough Parenting Instructor.
His tenure thus far has certainly helped expand LeafWing’s focus and capabilities.

Ariana Meyer-Noakes, MA, LMFT

Receiving both a BA and MA in Psychology from Chapman University, Ariana’s focus has since been helping her clients work through personal struggles and better manage psychological diagnoses. She’s a therapist with the County of Orange Family and Social Services, and in this capacity has dealt extensively with those navigating parenting/custody issues. Her work here in providing reunification therapy among other types of coping strategies, has become instrumental when it comes to helping a diverse range of clientele from all walks of life more effectively deal with family struggles. Additionally, Ariana’s experience in the realm of solution focused, cognitive behavioral, and psychodynamic theories has enabled her to productively motivate clients as they strive toward both their short and long terms goals. She has in-depth clinical experience in a number of settings to include psychiatric hospitals as well as schools; her arrival at LeafWing has been marked by enthusiastic collaboration and highly productive results.

Shraddha Patel, MA, LMFT

A licensed marriage and family therapist, Shraddha has over 8 years of experience working with children and families dealing with disorders ranging from ADHD to Schizophrenia. She has earned her Master’s degree from California State University, Fullerton in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy. Shraddha looks forward to expanding her professional skills at Leafwing and making an impact with children and families.
